Zinedane Zidane will be fit enough to play for France in Tuesday's crunch Group A tie against Denmark, French defender Vincent Candela promised today.

"It's up to him to see with the medical staff, but I think Zidane will be on the pitch," said the AS Roma player after his side's 0-0 draw against Uruguay.

That result, on top of the 1-0 loss to Senegal, leaves the world champions with a mountain to climb to get beyond the first round, making Zidane's return all the more crucial.

"The pressure's on us," conceded Candela. "We lost against Senegal and didn't win this evening, even though we're champions of the world and Europe."

"But that's all part of the job. We showed tonight that physically we were a little better than against Senegal. Overall it was a good game."

Zidane has been out of action since injuring his left thigh on May 26th.
