Restaurateur John Farrell launching a greatest hits menu in new venue

Temporary ‘pop-down’ restaurant will offer signature dishes from Super Miss Sue, 777, Dillinger’s and The Butcher Grill

Pop-ups are so last year. Restaurateur John Farrell is assembling a "best of" menu of signature dishes from his Dublin eating houses and will be serving them at SMSPopDown, a temporary restaurant in a basement site underneath Drury Street car park.

From December 11th, customers will be able to order the best selling dishes from Super Miss Sue, 777, Dillinger’s and The Butcher Grill, under one roof. The food will be cooked on two giant charcoal grills, and the menu will offer two courses for €22 at lunch (€26 for three), and €26 at dinner (€30 for three). Tuna tostadas, steaks, grilled chicken and sides of corn and onion rings will feature. The restaurant will seat 80.

The venue, underneath Super Miss Sue, was initially earmarked by Farrell for a gin and campari bar and seafood restaurant, but he now plans to put an upmarket Italian, SMS Luna, there instead. The “pop-down” will operate into the new year. Reservations are being taken on 087-7764230 or by email at popdown@supermisssue.com.
