Tipperary-based ZeroMission has raised $3 million (€2.8 million) to grow its vehicle fleet management platform and expand its business in Europe and the US as the company seeks to boost adoption of electric vehicles.
The round was co-led by Delta Partners, which invests in early stage start-ups in Ireland, and pan-European venture capital company Greencode, with Vireo and angel investors also participating. The funding will be used to boost product development and expand ZeroMission’s commercial reach.
ZeroMission is hoping to tap into the demand for decarbonising fleets, amid growing pressure to reduce emissions as companies and countries strive to meet environmental targets.
The company, which was founded by Leah O’Dwyer and Kevin Christopher in 2022, offers software for fleet operators to help support the transition to electric vehicles. The fully integrated software platform supports the efficient deployment and management of EVs at scale, providing single sign-on, real-time information on vehicles and charging stations, and allowing companies to optimise energy usage and costs.
“The ZeroMission team are building the most comprehensive and integrated EV operating system for commercial fleets, based on true industry insights and access,” said Amy Neale, general partner at Delta Partners. “At Delta, we’re thrilled to be going on this journey with them, tackling an immediate and urgent industry need.”
ZeroMission’s system is already being used by California’s transit bus operators and a number of US tech companies with commuter services provided by electric vehicles. The company is now targeting further growth in that market, along with expansion in Europe.
“Our fleet operator clients use ZeroMission as a single platform wherever they are on the journey to transition to electric vehicles,” said chief executive Leah O’Dwyer. “While of the majority of existing fleet operators plan to continue electrifying their fleets, we know that more than 80 per cent are curtailed by an absence of integrated systems to manage daily operations and smart tools to plan and transition their fleets. These missing parts are what we provide for our customers and today’s announcement will enable us to expand our client base significantly.”
