Noel Grealish (58) has won a seat in Galway West in the 2024 general election. He was elected to the Dáil as a Progressive Democrats candidate in 2002 and 2007, and since that party was disbanded Grealish - the last leader of the PDs - has successfully held his seat in the last four elections.
The Grealish dynasty based in Carnmore was extended earlier this year when his younger brother Tómas romped home to a seat on Galway County Council.
Grealish, the former owner of a glass company, has landed himself in hot water over comments about asylum seekers in Oughterard, but support has remained steadfastly loyal for a man renowned for a very strong work ethic on the ground throughout the constituency.
