Sir, – I have been reading Irish Times letters for many years but the letter about the Eurovision song contest, in which there is mention of "boobs" and "bums", hits a new low (May 17th). Although on display in large amounts, mention of these body parts using this terminology is more suited to the tabloid press.
I expected more of The Irish Times and am sad to see it adopt the terminology of modern-day vulgarians. – Yours, etc,
