Sir, - It is wholly disingenuous of Bert Wright to suggest (July 4th) that Irish fans wanted to see England fail in Euro 2000 because the English team played unattractive football. If football aestheticism were a governing factor, Irish fans would have supported anyone but Ireland over the past decade. - Yours, etc.
