Two people have died in separate house fires in Dublin overnight.

A woman in her 60s was killed after a fire broke out in a house in Donnybrook early this morning.

Gardaí are investigating the cause of the fire on Ranelagh Road. No one else was in the house at the time.

A woman in her 50s also died after a house fire in Ballymun last night. The fire broke out at a house in Balbutcher Lane shortly before 10pm.

The woman was taken to the Mater University Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
