Gardaí have seized a quantity of heroin in Dublin with an estimated street value of €100,000.

The drugs were discovered during a planned search of an apartment in Rialto Court in the south inner city yesterday evening. Drug paraphernalia such as weighing scales and bagging material were also found.

Three men, aged 24, 22 and 16, were arrested and are being held at Kevin Street and Harcourt Terrace Garda stations under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act 1996.

The operation is a follow-up to the seizure of cocaine, with a value of €50,000, and a hand gun in the Rialto area on Sunday.
