A 36-year-old construction worker dropped dead while working on the new Kilcock/Kinnegad motorway in Co Kildare today.
It is believed the man may have suffered some kind of a seizure or heart attack before falling into the water where he is thought to have drowned. The stream, which, runs under the new motorway, is reported to be one foot deep.
The man was found by work colleagues shortly after 12 noon today in a shallow stream at Kilmorebrannagh, one and a half miles from Johnstownbridge. He had only been missing for ten to fifteen minutes.
His body was removed to Naas General Hospital and a post mortem is due to be carried out this evening.
