A chara, – Breda O'Brien writes about "the dangers of assembling a group of fewer than 100 people in a pressurised situation where they are subjected to a barrage of information in a very compressed time, most of which is presented as expert and neutral" ("Referendum Commission reform is vital to democracy", Opinion and Analysis, January 13th). Your columnist goes on to describe such a process fostering "unhealthy consensus".
