Sir, – A bus works in a particularly simple manner. People board and they take seats. As those seats are vacated people are expected to use the newly vacated seats.
There appears to be a chronic misunderstanding of how this is done.
It is continuously noticeable that people seem to enjoy hanging around the gangway and the area where buggies or disabled people are supposed to be able to locate themselves.
This is not a kitchen at a house party. If people wish to simulate the experience of standing and staring blankly into space perhaps instead of doing it on public transport, they should simply stand at their desk in the office, put their headphones in and wait there for an hour. – Yours, etc,
