Sir, – Government advice is for Irish residents to leave South Africa on commercial flights.
My husband is in Johannesburg but cannot leave to return to Donegal as his flight is cancelled and his airline will not offer another date – pushing us towards accepting a refund which we have declined.
Meanwhile planes arrive in South Africa bringing people in and then leaving empty.
Some joined-up thinking would be useful here.
