Pandemic governance

Sir, – Good governance is when all actors are clear about about their roles, responsibilities and accountability.

The confused communication and slow decision making exhibited recently in our pandemic management is symptomatic of poor governance structure and processes.

In order to reset public confidence, it is necessary to explain to the public the pandemic governance structure, process and roles and responsibilities of each actor. Having to formulate the explanation will ensure there is clarity amongst all actors.

The public needs full transparency and less paternalism if we are to be expected to support restrictions on our freedom. – Yours, etc,
