Sir, – I see now the Nphet blame game has shifted to primary school kids, as parents are urged to cut down on their social lives. Again.
So, it’s not the 30 unmasked kids rammed against each other in ill-ventilated rooms for hours a day, but instead it’s two or three children playing together at the weekend that’s spreading Covid-19. Sounds scientific to me. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – According to Ruairí Brugha (Opinion, October 28th) Ireland is on the cusp of another Covid-related disaster.
He states “Last winter, 18-35 year olds contracted Covid-19 in pubs, and at work and home parties, and transmitted the infection to older relatives, many of whom died”.
Is this evidence based, anecdotal or conjecture? The phrase innocent until proven guilty comes to mind, or perhaps throw enough mud at a wall might be better. – Yours, etc,
