Burglarising the language

Sir, – In Europe, tailors tailor; burglars burgle; producers produce, and colourists colour. Respectively, they do not tailorise, burglarise, productionise, or colourise.

I have no opinions on the merits or otherwise of colouring old photos, provided it could be done without resorting to denominalised neologisms; and in particular where the word already is anthimeric.
