An Irish double transplant patient, Mr Dermot Fenton (24), yesterday toasted his return home to Glenville in north Cork with a pint of Guinness and urged the Government to press ahead with plans for a national heart and lung transplant unit.

A cystic fibrosis sufferer, Mr Fenton was rushed to Harefield Hospital in Middlesex, England, by Government jet last November 19th for a lung and heart transplant operation when suitable donor organs became available at short notice.
