The death has occurred in England of Alice Dalgarno, a choreographer and founding member of the Royalette dancers in the old Theatre Royal on Dublin. Ms Dalgarno (83), died in hospital in Lincolnshire on Friday. She had been suffering from Parkinson's disease.

A Scot,, Ms Dalgarno was born in April 1916, and came to Ireland in 1939 as a founding member of the Royalettes. When the 4,500 seater Theatre Royal, where Hawkins House now stands, closed in the early 1960's, Ms Dalgarno worked in the Gaiety Theatre.
