Gardai investigating the killing of a retired Galway farmer, Mr Tom Casey, yesterday continued to question a 19 year old man arrested in Ennistymon, Co Clare, on Wednesday. He is being detained at Mill Street station, Galway, under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act and had his detention period extended by 24 hours until 9.30 a.m. today.

A Garda spokesman said he also being questioned about other crimes in the west of Ireland, including a firearms offence and other raids on elderly people.
