A man is being questioned under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act following his arrest outside the Bank of Ireland, Foxford, Co Mayo, yesterday morning.
A man had entered the bank carrying a sawn-off shotgun, fired one shot into the ceiling, ordered the five customers there to leave and robbed the staff shortly after 11 a.m. As the man left the building he was arrested by gardai. A shotgun and a sum of money were recovered.
