A judge today relaxed the bail conditions of a man charged with membership of two loyalist paramilitary groups.

A judge today relaxed the bail conditions of a man charged with membership of two loyalist paramilitary groups.

Ihab Shoukri, the brother of north Belfast loyalist Andre Shoukri, denied being involved with the Ulster Freedom Fighters and the Ulster Defence Association between February and July 2003.

Lawyers for Mr Shoukri (31) of Westland Drive, Belfast, had asked for his curfew to be reduced.

During a brief hearing at Belfast Crown Court, Judge Tom Burgess granted the request and ruled the curfew would now stand between 10pm and 7am. It had previously been in place from 7pm to 7am.

The judge said the other bail conditions would remain the same. Mr Shoukri was not in court for today's ruling.
