A woman has become the 44th person to die on the North’s roads so far this year after she was hit by a bus on Tuesday morning.

Inspector Rosie Leech said: "The circumstances of the collision, which occurred just before 6am, are now under investigation and we are keen to hear from witnesses."

On Sunday a man died in a traffic collision between a car and a coach near Ballymena, and four people were badly injured near Mayobridge in a crash involving a car and motorcycles.
