The weekend will continue relatively mild and mostly dry. A lot of cloud is likely throughout, however, with some showery outbreaks of light rain and drizzle at times, particularly near the coasts of Connacht and Ulster.
Some pleasant bright intervals will occur also, chiefly over central, eastern and southern counties.
Daytime temperatures will generally range from 15 to 18 Celsius and the nights will be mild.
It will be breezy with fresh south-west to west winds.
During Sunday night, a spell of more persistent rain will reach the Atlantic seaboard before spreading eastwards to all parts during Monday morning, the rain heavy in places.
This will be followed by much cooler showery weather for the later part of Monday and Tuesday as the winds swing to a west to north-west direction.
Holiday destinations
Eastern Mediterranean (Greece and islands; west and south coast of Turkey; Cyprus): A mostly dry and fine week throughout.
Good sunshine most days with only light variable winds.
Top temperatures 20 to 24 Celsius but as high as 28 Celsius in the east.
Western Mediterranean (Italy and Mediterranean coasts of France and Spain): Most areas having a fine sunny and warm start.
Some showery rain, however, will affect Spanish resorts during Monday evening, this cloud and rain spreading eastwards into France and Italy during Tuesday and Wednesday.
Some heavy or thundery outbreaks possible. Continuing rather changeable for the rest of the week.
Daytime temperatures 18 to 22 Celsius.
Atlantic Coasts (France, Spain and Portugal): Dry and sunny on Monday.
Cloudy conditions with rain and showers through midweek, but mainly dry again with sunshine by Thursday.
Fresh north-east winds will become variable later. Typical daytime temperatures 15 to 20 Celsius.
