Potentially lethal Chinese fireworks known as Five Shots were found when Customs officers raided commercial premises in Dundalk, Co Louth, yesterday.

Officials questioned a man last night about a container of assorted fireworks believed bound for street hawkers in Dublin city centre and markets close to the Border.

One box of fireworks held the dangerous Five Shots which fire powder in five directions. They sell in Henry Street and Mary Street, Dublin, for £5 each. Each box represents £400 for the sellers.
