Two stabbed during assault and burglary in Limerick

Man arrested after armed robbery from apartment in the city centre

Two men were stabbed during a burglary at an apartment in Limerick city this morning.

The incident happened at Lower Glentworth Street at about 1.20am when a man entered the apartment and assaulted the two men.

Property including cash and mobile phones was stolen. The victims were taken to University Hospital in Limerick where their injuries are described as not life threatening.

A 34-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and he is being held at Henry Street Garda station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act (1984).
