Body of missing hillwalker found in Co Kerry

Man from UK, who was in his early 60s, had been missing on Mount Brandon since Tuesday

The body of a man missing on Mount Brandon in Co Kerry has been found.

The man, aged in his early 60s, had been missing since Tuesday.

His body was discovered by rescue teams on Wednesday evening.

The man, who is from the UK, was hillwalking alone when he became lost.

A number of search teams were involved in the operation - including the Valentia Coastguard.

Gardai said the cause of his death is not suspicious.

Kerry Mountain Rescue, Dingle Coast Guard and Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 115 from Shannon were all involved in the search operation on Tuesday which was eventually called off due to heavy fog.
