Paris - President Chirac of France said yesterday Indonesia could risk losing international financial aid if it did not ensure security in East Timor, his spokes woman said.

Ms Catherine Colonna quoted Mr Chirac as telling the cabinet that France would ask the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities for East Timor as it did in Kosovo.
