A 12-year-old pupil at Derry’s largest Catholic grammar school has been arrested and later released following an allegation that he had stabbed a 13-year-old boy, writes George Jackson.

The incident is alleged to have happened last Friday afternoon at St Columb’s College. A PSNI spokesperson said that “the injured party had sustained a wound to his stomach. We are investigating a report that a scalpel was used.”
