Two men sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of a Protestant woman in the belief that she was Catholic are to appeal their convictions.

Stephen Rules (31), of Donegall Avenue, Belfast, and Christopher Sheals (30), of Dorchester Crescent, Glengormley, were jailed in February 1996 for killing Margaret Wright (31), in a loyalist bandhall.

The appeal date was set yesterday for April 7th - the third anniversary of Ms Wright's death.
