Berlin - The German defence ministry confirmed yesterday that five staff sergeants and a corporal have been sacked for decorating their quarters with Nazi symbols and pictures of Hitler and shouting fascist slogans during a drinking spree, Denis Staunton reports. The incident happened in a barracks in Bavaria in 1993 but disciplinary proceedings did not start until last Monday, when photographs of the party came to light.
