We take it back - they're entitled to a share of Sam's glory

It doesn't happen very often but Around the Blockis about to eat its words. On September 15th we had a gentle dig at Lisney's Drumcondra branch which had posters in its branch window before the Dublin V Kerry All- Ireland Final wishing the Dubs good luck and saying "Sam needs a new home".

We commented that Lisney has traditionally associated itself more with tennis, cricket and rugby “which shows there are no sporting barriers when it comes to self promotion”.Well touché Lisney in Drumcondra, who sent us this photo of twomembers of its team, Darren Chambers and Eoin O’Toole, holding the Sam Maguire.

How did they get their clutches on it? Because the branch has sponsored the Mini Leagues in CLG Na Fianna in Glasnevin for the past eight years “and their chairman Paul McCarville was bringing it up to the club and very kindly swung by our office to pay us a quick visit,” said Darren Chambers.
