Pick up a penguin-inspired rug

Oki Sato has been named creator of 2015 at the Paris-based annual interiors show Maison et Objet. Wallpaper magazine has loved the designer for years and Bo Concept (boconcept.ie) was also ahead of the curve having hired Oki Sato to design a range for their 2014 collection which includes this blue rug, 170cm by 240cm, based on an origami pattern for a penguin. It is included in the current sale at the Danish brand's two stores, in Arnotts (01-8045881), Henry Street and Beacon South Quarter (01-2932008) where there is 20 per cent off all rugs. Normally €739 you can buy it for €590 until Monday, February 9th.

Cheap and cheerful walls

Aughrim-based Colette Ward Interiors (040- 2750676 collettewardinteriors.ie) has 20 per cent off all Sanderson and Harlequin fabrics and wallpapers until Friday, February 13th, including this cheerful Clementine by Sanderson. Normally €79 per roll, it is reduced to €63.20 during the sale.

Let there be light – in the kitchen

Swords-based Illumination (01-8903988, Illumination.ie) is offering 18 per cent off this antique-style caged brass pendant, 31cm with a 46cm to 95cm drop, and ribbed glass detailing, which would work well in kitchens and over dining tables and islands.
