Trending . . . festive prints

Print maker Fán Regan's (085-2360146, fawn.ie) latest design, That Magic Night, captures the night before Christmas spirit. She makes her editions using lino-cuts, a medium used by Picasso and Matisse, cutting out the design, then rolling the plate with ink, covering that with fine art printmaking paper and running it through a printing press, using old editions of The Irish Times as press "blankets" to protect the work.

The print is in four colours: midnight blue, sky blue, gold star and berry red, with contrasting ribbons and is surrounded by an ash frame, 16cm square. Each costs €32.

Three of the best . . . Dressing the table

The dressed table by the White Company (0044 2037589222, thewhitecompany.com) is an OTT all-white affair to wow guests. It includes snowflake paper decorations, €15 for a set of three; silver concertina balls, €19 for a set of three; bell paper decorations set of three, €18; large pillar candle holder, €57; bell dinner candle holder, €38; bell pillar candle holder, €38; wine glass, €38 for a set of two.

Steal the look of Kelly Hoppen (0044 2037019333, kellyhoppen.com) and keep the table looking chic and simple. The British designer is a fan of pared-back simplicity. It works because of the tonal dinnerware, the table linen, about €31.50 for a set of four, and the three-wick gold candles that bring sparkle, about €44, and red tea lights adding a warming glow, about €25 for a set of three, ex delivery.

Is Christmas day going to be a small affair? Then add a bit of ring a ding ding to the decor with a Dingdong gold vinyl wall sticker from UK-based Vinyl Impression (0044 1342311858 vinylimpression.co.uk). Simple red taper candles, a gilded candlestick and some claret tableware will delight the eye of your guests. The sticker comes in many colours and costs €34.40 including delivery.
