Estate agent Lisney closes year with key promotions

‘While 2020 was a challenging year, our focus was on the best footing possible to grow’

Three Lisney agents with years of experience on the residential beat are heading into Christmas with a spring in their step.

In a Lisney strategy to introduce some fresh blood and thinking to the upper ranks Darren Chambers, Stephen Day and Rory Kirwan have been elevated to director level.

Each will be well known in their area. Chambers has been at the helm of Lisney's Dundrum office since its opening five years ago having previously driven the Drumcondra branch.

Day was given a baptism of fire in March when the opening of Lisney’s new Blackrock branch on Mount Merrion Avenue coincided with the start of Lockdown One, but a busy autumn with some swift €2million-plus sales is likely to have compensated.

Meanwhile, Kirwan has been steadily logging premium sales in South County Dublin following the opening of the new Dalkey branch last year, not least a €6.2 million joint sale on Castle Avenue that came in as the top residential sale in Dublin this year.

The elevations come as part of a raft of promotions within Lisney, which includes four women who have been appointed as divisional directors, while Margaret Kelleher will now replace James Nugent as chairperson of the firm.

"While 2020 was a challenging year, our focus was firmly on how to put Lisney on the best footing possible to grow and seize the opportunities that will exist when we come out of this crisis," said David Byrne, Lisney managing director.
