Two of O’Brien’s bestselling wines for under €10

Wines for the weekend: If you are feeling the pinch, it might be worth trying out the Giancondi wines

It seems that prices are rising on just about every consumer item and wine is no exception.

If you are feeling the pinch, it might be worth trying out the Giancondi wines, two of O’Brien’s best-sellers. I can see why their customers like these wines so much. Both are well-made easy-drinking wines at a great price, especially when they are on promotion.

The label for the white wine doesn’t include a region or grape but the O’Briens website lists Catarratto and Inzolia, varieties widely planted in Sicily. For the red wine, the website lists Sangiovese and Negroamaro as the grape varieties. The latter is almost exclusively grown in Puglia, so I suspect this wine comes from there, although it might be a blend of several regions.
