Two fresh and fruity Australian wines to watch out for in Aldi

Wines for the Weekend: We recommend pairing these with salad, tuna or grilled duck breast

This week we have two Australian wines from Aldi. Margaret River is close to Perth in Western Australia, now home to many of our nurses and doctors. The region has some of Australia’s finest estates which produce high quality red and white wine.

Many of the Sauvignons contain 5 per cent to 15 per cent Sémillon, giving the wines a pleasant herbal note and more texture. The wine below includes 8 per cent Sémillon.

Moving over to the eastern side of Australia, cooler regions in South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria produce some very fine soft Pinot Noir. This is a new limited edition from Aldi.

Specially Selected Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc 2021, Western Australia

Lightly perfumed with fresh zesty green fruits and a crisp dry finish. Perfect on its own, with a goat’s cheese salad or grilled white fish with herbs. 12%, €9.99
