Oliver Dollar

You probably know Oliver Siebert's tunes better than you realise. The Berlin music- maker's 2014 Pushing On collaboration with Jimi Jules was one of those infectious earworms that migrate from the dancefloor and cause mainstream listeners to turn their heads. It's not a fluke, as Siebert's previous sprightly releases on Ministry of Sound, Greco Roman and Pete Tong's reconstituted FFRR label. There's a mighty night in store out west when Dollar comes to town.
ELECTRONICA
Slugabed & Yosi Horikawa
Grand Social, Dublin 11pm €10/€8
soundcloud.com/slugabed
A double-bill for those who like out-there, off-kilter electronic sounds. Slugabed is Gregory Feldwick, the producer behind the 2012 Time Time album on Ninja Tune, which saw him turn strands and strains from dubstep, grime, techno, hip-hop and house into an enticing boogie. Feldwick is joined tonight by Osaka-born producer Yosi Horikawa, whose obsession with found sound has seen him integrate field recordings from world heritage island Yakushima into his music. Check out his collaborations with Fulgeance, Dorian Concept and Jesse Boykins III for more.
CLASSICAL
Galway Early Music Festival
Various venues, until Sunday
galwayearlymusic.com
For 20 years this festival has been celebrating baroque, renaissance, ancient and medieval music, and this year the theme aptly enough is time. Among the highlights are music with Andrew Lawrence-King, The Harp Consort, Sequentia, Pandora’s Box, the Alphabet Baroque Club, Aoife Nic Athlaoich and Yonit Kosovske. There will also be a feast of fools, and a medieval and renaissance dance class, so you can learn how to bust the kind of dope move that would make Thomas Cromwell weep with envy. Psych.
