The Script’s Croke Park tickets sell out in less than an hour

Tickets for Irish rock group The Script's Croke Park gig next June have sold out, MCD Productions has announced.

Tickets for the hotly anticipated June 20th gig at Croke Park went on sale at 9am this morning online and at Ticketmaster outlets around the country.

By 10am standing tickets for the gig had completely sold out.

MCD Productions confirmed this afternoon that all tickets for the gig had sold out.

Irish rockers The Script were unveiled last week as the headline act in Croke Park next summer.

The group will be supported at Croke Park by Grammy award-winning artist, Pharrell Williams.

The June concert, which will be the biggest concert to date for the Dublin band, falls the week of the 30th anniversary of U2’s first concert in the venue, when they played as part of the Unforgettable Fire tour.

Speaking at the announcement of their headline show last week, lead singer Danny O’Donoghue said it would be a “very special gig... nothing tastes sweeter than an Irish show”.

Asked whether they were nervous about their capacity to sell over 80,000 tickets, O’Donoghue said, “I think we’re more nervous about the weather. We just want everyone to enjoy themselves. The nerves are more about that. It’s more excitement than nerves.”
