Vromo, an Irish start-up that has developed a food delivery software platform, has raised $8 million (€ 6.8million) in a new funding round.
Established by Alan and Brian Hickey, the company was founded in 2016 as a delivery service provider. However, expanding outside of Ireland it found itself unable to find a software solution that would track hot food deliveries. It therefore bought a start-up called Spatula and rebranded as Vromo.
The company has developed a dedicated software platform for food delivery helps partners to better track deliveries by giving a bird's eye view of fleets in real-time. The platform, which is live in over 250 cities, has more than 9,000 restaurants as customers and counts the likes of Doordash, Olo, Burger King and Deliveroo as partners.
Vromo is headquartered in Dublin and has offices in New York and Waterford.
Vromo said the new investment, which has been led by the Dutch venture capital firm, No Such Ventures, will be used to accelerate the company’s growth plans and create more jobs.
Brian Hickey, the company’s president, said Vromo has seen phenomenal growth on the back of the Covid crisis.
