The Bank of England's monetary policy committee is deeply divided over the outlook for inflation, adding to uncertainty about the future direction of interest rates.

In its latest quarterly inflation report, published yesterday, the Bank predicts the economy will strengthen further in coming months. But the report also reveals that a sharp difference of views over the future strength of sterling has split committee members on the implications for inflation.
