A safe way to avoid nomination

Talk about corporate spin control

Talk about corporate spin control. British Telecom is the proud sponsor of the Internet Villain award, to be handed out next month during the British Internet Service Providers Association (ISPA) annual awards ceremony. A nice irony there, since BT isn't exactly the most beloved of companies by British Net users, and is certainly the best-known potential nominee for such an award.

Conveniently, sponsorship rules for all of the ISPA awards (and most have corporate sponsors) state that award sponsors can't be nominated for the award they are backing. So for BT - this time, at least - it's not for you-hoo.
