Roy Keane takes his life story on the road

The former Red Devil will be in conversation with Roddy Doyle in Dublin next month

Roy Keane and Booker Prize-winning author Roddy Doyle are to embark on a road show in the UK and Ireland following the publication of Keane's memoir called The Second Half next month.

The former captain of Manchester United will be in conversation with Doyle in London, Manchester and Dublin following the publication date of October 9th.

“My football career both on and off the pitch has been colourful, to say the least,” said Keane. “I look forward to chatting about the highs and lows. People may not have expected Roddy Doyle and me to come together and write a book but I really enjoyed the process and look forward to discussing it in front of a live audience.”

On Monday October 20th Keane will be in The Royal Institute of British Architects in London and the following evening at The Lancashire County Cricket Club in Manchester, where Daily Telegraph journalist Jim White will moderate. In Dublin Keane will speak in The Main Hall of the RDS, where RTE's Hugh Cahill will drive the conversation.
