Ireland confirm friendly against Turkey in March

The FAI has confirmed that Ireland will play Turkey in a friendly in the Mediterranean city of Antalya on March 23rd.

The squad will assemble on March 18th and travel to Antalya for a four-day training camp before the game which will be the 14th meeting between the two nations. Turkey won 2-1 in Dublin when the teams last met, in Mary of 2014.

The game is the second to be scheduled for Ireland in 2018 with a friendly against France in Paris confirmed earlier this month. Ireland next competitive games will be in the Autumn when the Nations League kicks off – with the draw for that competition due to take place next month – but qualifying proper for the 2020 European Championships will not get under way until the start of 2019.
