Ulster to face Leinster in unveiling of new Ravenhill stands

Ulster will unveil the two new stands at Ravenhill with a pre-season clash against Leinster at the Belfast ground on August 23rd.

The construction of the stands at the Aquinas and Memorial ends of the ground cost of €17 million and marks the completion of the first phase of the redevelopment of the stadium that will bring the capacity up to 13,500 from just under 12,000.

As part of the first phase, the East Terrace has been reconfigured and is now five metres closer to the pitch.

Building work will continue at Ravenhill during the coming season with a new grandstand opening for the 2014-15 campaign with a final capacity of just over 18,000.

The game against Leinster is a rematch of the RaboDirect Pro12 final, which was won by Joe Schmidt’s side in his last game in charge of the province.

Tickets for the game, which will kick-off at 7.30pm, will go on sale through www.ulsterrugby.com/ticketmaster from 9am on Thursday July 18th and from the Ulster ticket office at 9am on Monday July 29th. Ulster season tickets are valid for the match.
