Old Belvedere on verge of AIL title success

Terenure attempt to make it 16 from 16 in Division 1B

In the questionable decision to dispense with end-of-season play-offs (which belatedly return next season), fortunately for the Ulster Bank League, Division 1A has gone down to the wire for the second time in three years.

Hence, the RTÉ cameras will be in attendance at Dooradoyle today for what should be Old Belvedere's coronation as a two-time All-Ireland League champions should relegated Garryowen be beaten. A whopping 44 points separate the two sides at either end of the table.

Clontarf are liable to finish second again. They face a Ballynahinch side which needs to win to avoid the relegation/promotion play-off and have taken maximum points from their last three games. Dolphin, at home to Lansdowne, and Young Munster, away to UCD, need something from their games to stay ahead of Ballynahinch.

In Division 1B, Terenure will attempt to make it 16 wins from 16 at home to second-placed Buccaneers.
