Ireland’s Six Nations games dominate Virgin Media Television figures in 2021

Ireland’s five Six Nations fixtures were the highest-viewed programmes on Virgin Media Television in 2021.

The Valentine’s Day 15-13 defeat to France at the Aviva Stadium was the broadcaster’s most watched event of the year.

Ireland’s 32-18 win over England in Dublin on March 20th was second, followed by the defeat to Wales on February 7th, the 27-24 win over Scotland on March 14th and finally the 48-10 win over Italy in Rome on February 27th.

In total, sporting events made up for 13 of the top-20 most-viewed programmes on the channel.

These included Chelsea’s Champions League final win over Manchester City on May 29th which came 15th, and Manchester United’s Europa League final penalty shootout loss to Villarreal on May 26th, which came 16th.
