From Belfast, 'Wee Rooster' moved up to the 52kg weight class in 2016 and competed at the Olympic Games in Rio but was unable to get on to the podium after losing out in the last 16. He bagged silver in 2018 at the Commonwealth Games before successfully returning from injury in 2019. The only Irish boxer to qualify from the abandoned London 2020 qualifier.
