Mayo will line out with just three players from the team which fell to Down in last year's All-Ireland final - corner back Rory Keane, wing back Conor Moran and full forward Alan Dillon, who won an All-Ireland Vocational Schools inter-county medal last year. This year he was part of the Davitt College team beaten after a replay by Colaiste na Sceilge in the All-Ireland Vocational Schools final.
These two counties have met in the final only twice in the last 10 years, with each side winning once, but Roscommon's last success was back in 1992. Mayo have won the title three times since - including last year's dramatic win over Galway. In this year's semi-final they also met Galway, with Conor Mortimer's accuracy from play and placed balls proving most notable in the two-point win.
Roscommon were pushed all the way against Leitrim in their semi-final - eventually coming through 1-11 to 0-12 - and the momentum appears to be with Mayo as they set out to make amends for last year's All-Ireland final defeat.
