AUSTRALIAN Robert Allenby, who fractured his sternum in a car crash in Spain 12 days ago, is set to appear at the Volvo Masters in two weeks' time - possibly to hit just one shot with his puller.

Allenby has been told that to collect a bonus which could amount to £73,000 he must tee off in the season's final event.

Allenby's manager Andrew Ramsey said yesterday: "I spoke to Ken Schofield (the tour's executive director) and was hoping that, in the extraordinary circumstances, Robert would be allowed to miss the event and still be eligible for the bonus pool.

"But the rules are in black and white, and Ken said his hands were tied. Robert wants to finish third in the Order of Merit and if it means hitting Just one shot that's what he'll do."
