Sir, – I am currently in the middle of posting my Christmas cards – at an average cost to me of €2 each.
Like thousands of others I will receive a number of cards from Oireachtas members. Theirs will be printed, enveloped and posted using taxpayer’s money. Indeed the associated administrative work will also be paid for by the taxpayer. And the purpose – self promotion, ie canvassing. Isn’t it time the “new politics” stopped this abuse of public money. I don’t mind paying for my own but theirs as well? – Yours, etc,
