Sir, – An Post announced that a new stamp “Fáilte “was due for release last Thursday, and as a collector of first-day issues of Irish stamps, I went to the local post office, but when I got to the counter the attendant informed me that the stamps had not arrived. We arranged that I would call back the following day.
When I returned, he informed me that they still had not arrived as they were held up in the customs department. I was amazed and shocked when he informed me that the stamps were printed in England. I think it is long past the time for An Post to get its house in order and have Irish stamps printed in Ireland. Surely there are printers in Ireland capable of printing Irish stamps here. – Is mise,
